MANILA - Social justice advocate and former Gabriela Womens' Party Rep. Liza Maza shared her initial legislative priorities should she win a Senate seat in the upcoming 2025 elections.

One of her key proposals is to eliminate burdensome fees for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). 

"Meron diyang itinaas ang passport fee, ang repatriation, saka yung insurance," she said.

(Among those are the increased passport fee, repatriation, and insurance costs)

Maza also intends to file a joint resolution to review all treaties and agreements that the country has entered into, particularly those that may be detrimental to the Philippines' interests.

She cited examples such as the Mutual Defense Treaty, and the increasing number of Philippine military facilities that US troops have access to under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement.
