MANILA — DJ and social media influencer Jellie Aw said Friday that she will no longer marry fiancé Jam Ignacio as she acused him of physical abuse.

Despite Ignacio’s apology, Aw made it clear that she will not withdraw the case against him.

Gagawin niya ulit ‘yun, mas grabe pa," she added.

The alleged assault took place on February 12 after Ignacio reportedly became jealous of Aw’s co-DJ.

While her physical wounds are healing, she admitted that trauma remains.

Parang ‘pag araw-araw naalala mo, masakit," she said.

The couple got engaged in November last year, but Aw has now decided to call off the wedding, citing the impact of the incident on her family, particularly her mother.

Ignacio on Friday appeared before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after failing to respond to a subpoena the previous day.

According to NBI Director Jaime Santiago, the case will proceed as a direct filing.

But then, hindi dapat nanakit ng babae," Santiago said.

So wala kaming magagawa kundi i-file ang kaso,” he added.

Despite lingering feelings, Aw stood firm in her decision to hold Ignacio accountable.

Ignacio will face charges of attempted homicide and violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
