The Tandang Sora Women's Museum, the first of its kind in the Philippines officially opens on February 19, 2025 in Quezon City. Soft-opened last January 6 during the 213rd birth anniversary of Melchora Aquino or more known as Tandang Sora, the museum features Aquino's role in the 1896 Philippine revolution during the Spanish colonial period while also celebrating the roles and contributions of Filipinas and movements in Philippine history and various fields. Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said that Banlat Road, the birthplace of Tandang Sora, is the most fitting location for the country’s first women's museum.

The museum showcases the life and legacy of Melchora Aquino, also known as Tandang Sora, featuring paintings depicting her contributions, antique artifacts, and a bust of the revolutionary heroine.

Beyond Tandang Sora, the museum also features paintings by women artists, as well as depictions of Filipina revolutionaries and notable women across different fields.
"If you notice we start with the Babaylan. If you will look closely with the walls, may nag-i-interweave dun which is the spirituality of Filipinos," she said.

"Ang tapang at husay ng mga Pilipinang kagaya ni Tandang Sora ang nagbigay ng daan para sa napakaraming karapatang tinatamasa nating mga kababaihan ngayon. We owe them the rights and liberties we enjoy today," Hontiveros said.

The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with free admission for seniors, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and Quezon City residents. Non-residents can enter for ₱50.
