MANILA -- A motorcycle rider, who claimed to work for the House of Representatives, was accosted for using the EDSA bus lane near the MRT Ortigas Station.

Making things worse was the confrontation he had with responding traffic enforcers.

According to the Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation, the rider attempted to leave the busway after being spotted by enforcers.

"When pulled over, the motorcyclist presented his motorcycle registration and driver's license," said the DoTr-SAICT in an online post.

"The rider, displaying an arrogant demeanor, claimed to work at the House of Representatives, suggesting this should exempt him from ticketing."

Traffic enforcers explained the rider's violation and the requirement to confiscate his driver's license.

"The rider challenged the confiscation, leading to further explanation from the enforcer. Tensions rose during the documentation when a casual conversation about the rider's cellphone model led to a misunderstanding, prompting the rider to angrily confront an operative with offensive language," said the report.

The confrontation was eventually quelled after other traffic enforcers stepped in.

The rider was penalized for disregarding traffic signs by unlawfully entering the busway, his failure to present a Certificate of Registration, and reckless driving.
