MANILA (UPDATE) — The House mega panel investigating disinformation in the country on Tuesday approved a motion to subpoena the social media personalities who once again failed to appear in its second hearing.

Abang Lingkod Party-list Rep. Joseph Stephen Paduano made the motion after reading some excuse letters of the political content creators.

Paduano noted that most of the absent influencers provided "similar justifications" for their absence during the first hearing, citing their petition for certiorari before the Supreme Court.

Subpoenaed individuals were former Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, poltical influencers Krizette Laureta Chu, Sass Rogando Sasot, Mark Anthony Lopez, Lorraine Marie Badoy-Partosa, Jeffrey Almendras Celiz (Eric Celiz), Dr. Richard Mata, Ethel Pineda Garcia, Joie De Vivre (Elizabeth Joi Cruz), Aaron Peña, and Mary Jean Reyes.
