MANILA — The body of the Filipino police official who died in the mid-air collision of a passenger plane and a military helicopter over Washington D.C.'s Potomac river is set to arrive in the Philippines this week, an official said Monday.

Philippine National Police Public Information Office chief Col. Randulf Tuaño said the remains of Col. Pergentino Malabed Jr. would arrive in Manila at around 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, February 20.

Malabed, chief of the PNP Supply Management Division under the Directorate for Logistics, will receive full honors upon his arrival. A viewing for his remains is set on February 27 at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center at Camp Crame.

Malabed was among the passengers of the American Airlines flight that collided with the Black Hawk helicopter near the Reagan National Airport and crashed into the Potomac River in late January.
