MANILA — Sen. Grace Poe backed the senatorial bids of former Senator Bam Aquino, former Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III, and reelectionist Sen. Pia Cayetano.

Poe expressed support for the three hopefuls from various political parties at the FPJ Panday Bayanihan party-list grand rally in San Carlos, Pangasinan on Sunday.

Kailangan natin ng talagang magtatrabaho," she said of Aquino, but also made the same assurance for Sotto and Cayetano.

The senator said the three candidates were among those who voted for her to remain in the upper chamber when she was being questioned because she was a "foundling."

Poe is the adopted child of the late film icons Fernando Poe Jr. and Susan Roces.

"'Yung politika namin iba-iba.

The senatorial candidates expressed support for the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Party-list and its first nominee Brian Poe-Llamanzares, the son of Poe.

If he returns to the Senate, Sotto said he would ensure the proper implementation of the measure he filed called the "Doktor Para sa Bayan Act" which provides scholarships to aspiring doctors.

Sotto will also propose measures pushing for 14th month pay, banning "fake news" and "fake content", and merging the Dangerous Drugs Board and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Aquino said he would expand the implementation of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, which he was the principal sponsor and author.

Mas marami pang makinabang, mas marami pang estudyante ang makinabang at hindi lang ang pag-graduate pati pagkaroon ng siguradong trabaho," he said.

Meanwhile, Cayetano noted that she has consistently backed the feeding program of Poe.

Sotto is the chairman of the Nationalist People's Coalition while Aquino chairs the Katipunan ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino. Cayetano is from the Nacionalista Party.
