<p>MANILA — The Senate has approved a motion to amend the legislative calendar moving the resumption of session to December 29 and adjournment to December 30. </p><p>In Monday’s session that only lasted for nine minutes, Senate Majority Floor Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri made the motion to give additional time for the preparation and ratification of the conference committee report of the proposed 2026 national budget. </p><p>“The ratification of the said conference committee report is imperative to ensure the continuity of government operations and the faithful implementation of the national budget for the ensuing fiscal year,” Zubiri said. </p><p>Senate Finance Committee Chairperson Sherwin Gatchalian thanked his fellow senators. </p><p>He said they will print the draft enrolled bill, share it with the bicam members and other lawmakers, and sign the draft enrolled bill together with the bicam report at 10 a.m. on December 28, Sunday.</p><p>Ratification of both houses of Congress will be on December 29. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/12/22/house-moves-adjournment-of-session-to-december-30-1240">House moves adjournment of session to December 30</a></div><p>“For the record, this Congress under our leadership will never allow a blind ratification, ever,” Senate President Vicente Sotto III said. </p><p>Zubiri seconded this and said they will not allow the signing of the bicam committee report without seeing the enrolled copy first.</p><p>“Whether we like it or not maybe in the past maraming singit, yung na-approve na sa bicam report napapalitan pa sa enrollment of bill na di dapat tama yun.
