Brian Keith Hosaka said, the ICI aims to hold its next hearing on December 15.</p><p>“If there’s a need to invite them - we will invite them…we plan to invite former Usec. Cabral and we are hoping that she appears, there are information that the commission would want to get from,” Hosaka told reporter.</p><p>According to Hosaka, the ICI will continue its mandate to investigate anomalous flood control projects.</p><p>This was his reaction, after Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said last week that the ICI is already wrapping up and may only last until February next year.</p><p>“Malinaw sa EO 94, meron tayong sunset clause don…the Commission will continue to exist until the purpose for which it was created is achieved. Upon the completion of its mandate or until earlier dissolved by the president,” Hosaka explained.</p><p>In fact, its budget according to Hosaka has already been downloaded from the Land Bank of the Philippines.</p><p>“The downloaded funds is around P39 (million) based on the Notice of Cash Allocation. In fact, the commission is busy on the  administrative side because we want to make sure that all staff here will be able to finally receive salaries before Christmas,” Hosaka said.</p><p>Hosaka explained, the ICI is studying the budget proposal for its operation for next year and will request for it if necessary to continue its work.</p><p>The ICI official believes, the Commission will still function despite the resignation of Commissioner Rogelio “Babes” Singson on December 15.</p><p>“Despite of the fact that Commissioner Babes Singson has resigned, there would still be the chairman and of course Commissioner Fajardo that would be two out of the three Commissioners in the ICI,” said Hosaka.</p><p>The ICI also supports the proposed bill creating the Independent Peoples Commission, Hosaka said.</p><p>“Its not a secret that there are certain powers and authority that would be good sa investigation na ‘to and according to Sec.
