Zaldy Co. <em>Courtesy: Comelec </em></span></span></span></div><p>MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc has officialy proclaimed Jan Franz Norbert Joselito Almario Chan as the new Ako Bicol Party-list representative, replacing resigned Rep. Zaldy Co.</p><p>Chan personally went to the Comelec main office in Intramuros Manila on Wednesday, November 12, where he was proclaimed by members of the Commission led by Chairman George Garcia.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/11/ombudsman-malversation-case-against-zaldy-co-others-submitted-for-resolution-1729">Ombudsman: Malversation case against Co, Sunwest Inc, DPWH Region IV-B officials submitted for resolution</a></div><p>He is the 3rd nominee of the party-list, replacing Co after the latter resigned from his post amid allegations of his involvement into the anomalous flood control projects of the government.</p><p>Ako Bicol party-list garnered two seats in the House of Representatives (HOR) during the 2025 National and Local Elections.</p><p>After the proclamation, Chan said part of his priority bills include pushing for disaster resilience policies, laws pertaining to renewable energy, bills that will support Persons with Disabilities and their families, and policies to address mental health problems, among others.</p><p>Co, meanwhile, is still out of the country as <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/11/6/zaldy-co-s-lawyer-says-accusations-against-client-must-be-specific-detailed-1628">his lawyer does not advise him to return to the Philippines</a> due to alleged threats in his life.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/kk1t7dITfHc?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
