<p>MANILA — The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) is offering a ₱100,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that may lead to the identification and arrest of those behind the killing of former NIA employee Niruh Kyle Antatico.</p><p>Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano, confirmed that NIA Administrator Engineer Eddie Guillen informed the police of the reward offer.</p><p>“He intimated na magbibigay sila ng ₱100,000 reward for anyone who could come forward and give information tungkol sa kaso nitong recent shooting incident natin,” Abrahano said.</p><p>According to Abrahano, the reward is intended to encourage the public to assist law enforcement in resolving the case.</p><p>“Even then, kahit na wala pa itong reward, ini-encourage namin ‘yung mga kababayan natin para to come forward kung may information sila para matulungan ‘yung inyong kapulisan para ma-resolve itong kaso,” he said.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/regions/2025/10/13/pnp-probing-nia-whistleblower-s-killing-1436">PNP probing NIA whistleblower’s killing</a></div><div>  </div><div><strong>THREATS BEFORE THE KILLING </strong></div><p>Investigators have learned that Antatico had received threats to his life as early as last year.</p><p>“According to our investigators, ‘yun ang nakuha nilang information that may threat sa buhay ng ating biktima as early as last year. Pero gaya ng sinasabi ko, we&#x27;re looking into all angles. Siyempre, primarily ‘yung kanyang former trabaho doon sa NIA and also pati yung kanilang ibang aspeto outside of his workplace,” Abrahano said.</p><p>Antatico, who resigned from NIA last year, was a law graduate and worked as a legal researcher at the agency.</p><p>Social media posts circulating online suggest that Antatico exposed alleged corruption within his former agency, although these claims have yet to be verified by investigators.</p><p>Authorities are now considering whether his previous role may have had a connection to the killing.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>POSSIBLE GUN-FOR-HIRE </strong></div><p>Abrahano also confirmed that police have already identified persons of interest in the case, although their identities remain confidential as the investigation is still ongoing.</p><p>“May maganda tayong developments, although hindi ko pa pwedeng ma-divulge at this point in time,” he said.</p><p>“Meron tayong persons of interest na tinitignan at we are confident na the soonest possible time, ma-resolve natin itong krimen na ito.”</p><p>Authorities are also looking into the possibility that the perpetrators were hired gunmen, based on the nature of the attack.</p><p>“Base doon sa modus operandi at ‘yung kanilang mga movements, mataas ang confidence ng mga investigators natin na gun for hire itong mga ito,” he added.</p><p>In addition to the gunmen, police are now exploring leads that could point to a potential mastermind behind the killing.</p><p>“We&#x27;d like to think na ‘yung mga tinutumbok namin, parang importante ‘yung role nila doon sa insidente,” Abrahano noted.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/15/solon-hits-irrigation-official-amid-inquiry-into-farm-to-cockpit-roads-2152">Solon hits Irrigation official amid inquiry into &#x27;farm-to-cockpit&#x27; roads</a></div><div> </div><div><strong>INVESTIGATION INTENSIFIED </strong></div><p>In a separate statement, the PRO-10 said the probe into Antatico’s killing has been intensified and is being handled by a dedicated team of detectives under the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office.</p><p>Authorities are now working closely with other agencies, including the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and the NIA, to ensure that all possible leads are carefully examined.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/5yJvmVtp16s?si=hEG-z1a_-fW66hF_" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><br/></div>
