MANILA — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) on Monday announced that it would increase by 50 percent almost all of its benefit packages starting January 2025.

“Kung matatandaan ninyo, noong February of 2024, nag-increase na po tayo ng 30 percent, and ngayon po bago matapos ang taon, ay nag-increase tayo ng another round, this time 50 percent naman po sa around 9,000 benefit packages starting January 1 admissions,” Pargas said in a televised briefing.

“Lahat ho halos ng ating benefit packages, or yun pong ating case rates ay nag-increase ng 50 percent. Ang hindi lamang po natin naisama dito ay yun pong mga ni-rationalize natin, or in-increase natin ng hiwalay doon sa 50 percent," he said.

"Katulad po halimbawa ng ating Kidney Transplantion Package na dati ay P600,000, ngayon po aabot sa P800,000 to P2 million package. O yung sa ating Heart Attack, yung Acute Myocardial Infarction na dati ay tinatawag na Angioplasty, na around P30,000 ang ating benefit package, ngayon po ay aabot na sya sa P530,000,” Pargas added.

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. earlier assured that members would still be able to avail of expanded and increased benefits from PhilHealth despite concerns over the decision to scrap government subsidies from the state health insurer.
