PCG challenges Chinese Coast Guard vessel spotted off Zambales coast

BRP Cabra along with a PCG helicopter and PCG Caravan plane challenge the presence of Chinese Coast Guard vessel CCG 5901 after the Philippine Coast Guard detected the presence of the vessel at 54 nautical miles off the coast of Capones Island, Zambales, using Canada's Dark Vessel Detection (DVD) system on January 4, 2025.
PCG reminded the CCG that it was operating within the Philippines' Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in accordance with the Philippine Maritime Zones Law and UNCLOS.
