MANILA — The 2025 Traslacion, a grand procession attended by millions of Nazareno devotees, will follow the traditional route in Manila spanning 5.8 kilometers.

The venerated centuries-old black image of Jesus Christ or Nazareno will depart from the Quirino Grandstand on the dawn of January 9, Thursday, and pass through several streets before reaching the Minor Basilica and Nationa Shrine of the Jesus Nazareno, commonly known as Quiapo Church.

The procession will pass through three plazas and parks, 18 national and city roads, and cross six bridges, and one underpass.

All roads along the Traslacion route, as well as those adjacent to it, will be closed to all vehicles except official ones. They will reopen only after the the andas passes through and the area is cleared.

QUIAPO CHURCH

Those wishing to enter Quiapo Church may only do so through Carlos Palanca and Villalobos Streets, known as the Quinta Market area.

Individuals with belongings such as bags will need to line up for stricter security checks, including the use of baggage scanners.

PAHALIK

Those who will participate in the pahalik or kissing of the statue at the Quirino Grandstand from January 7 to 9 should enter via Roxas Boulevard through Kalaw Extension.

Last year, authorities estimated that around 6.5 million devotees had participated in the Traslacion, which took a 3-year pause due to the pandemic.
