A House leader welcomed on Friday the possibility of a fourth impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, but denied having personal knowledge on the said complaint.

House Assistant Majority Leader and TINGOG Party List Representative Jude Acidre sees the move as a “logical and proper outcome” after the revelations made in the investigation conducted by the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability into the utilization of confidential funds by the offices led by VP Duterte.

“Ako, personally, I welcome all these impeachment complaints. Matagal, ilang buwan ang ginugol natin para maimbestigahan ‘yung mga katiwalian sa tanggapan ng Pangalawang Pangulo at doon po sa Department of Education noong siya ay Secretary, at we only see impeachment as the logical and the proper outcome and form of accountability for the Vice President,” Acidre said.

All three impeachment complaints filed against the Vice President mentioned alleged irregularities in the confidential fund use of her offices, which she previously denied.

A fourth impeachment complaint against Duterte may be filed at the House of Representatives next week, according to House Secretary General Reginald Velasco.

He said the information was relayed to him by a member of the House majority, and he expects the filing of the fresh complaint on Monday.

A different set of around 10 to 12 congressmen, meanwhile, are planning to endorse one of the three impeachment complaints previously filed, according to Velasco. He said they come from both the majority and minority blocs at the lower chamber, but they have yet to mention which of the three complaints they will endorse.
