MANILA -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) held mock elections in various locations in preparation for the 2025 National and Local Elections on Saturday, January 25. 

COMELEC Commissioner Ernesto Maceda Jr. observed and inspected the mock elections in Makati High School. He said that the mock elections today were held simultaneously in different locations all over the country to verify whether the transmittal and transmission would go through. 

The mock polls were held from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Residents and Comelec representatives tried filling out the ballots and feeding them in the vote-counting machines. 

Maria Lourdes Rementilla, one of the voters who participated, recounted her experience and said that she found the process easy.

"Hindi naman po ako nahirapan, madali lang po. At saka tama po yung lumabas dun sa ballot sheet," she said.  

Rementilla also shared that she joined the mock elections today to check whether there will be any anomalies. She expressed her satisfaction and said that she trusts the voting process and facilitation 100%. 

She further emphasized that voters should exercise their right to suffrage. 

Only a few voters participated in the mock elections in Makati High School which made the process smooth.

Comelec has yet to report whether the mock elections held today were a success.
