MANILA -- The National Irrigation Administration on Tuesday denied the claims of the camp of former President Rodrigo Duterte of supposed anomalies in the 2025 National Budget, which included funding for NIA.

Davao Representative Isidro Ungab said that based on the bicameral conference committee report, certain provisions in the budget of the Department of Agriculture, particularly in the NIA and the Philippine Coconut Authority, were deliberately left blank.

Former President Duterte said this makes the 2025 General Appropriations Act, earlier signed into law by President Marcos Jr. invalid and unenforceable. The latter, however, refuted such allegations, with Malacanang even accusing the former President of peddling fake news.

So wala naman pong blangko doon," NIA Administrator Eduardo Guillen said in a televised briefing.

Makikita mo, wala namang blangko po doon so... hindi ho totoo yan," he added.
