MANILA —  A Filipina in Kuwait who had been missing for around two months was found dead this week, the Department of Migrant Workers said Thursday.

The OFW has been working in Kuwait for five years. Her employer said she had left in October, which was around the last time her family had talked to her, DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said.

The Filipina’s remains were found in a heavily decomposed state inside the house of a Kuwaiti citizen on Dec. 31 after the alleged perpetrator was turned over by his brother, multiple media reports said.

The suspect’s relationship with the victim and the timeline of her death remain unclear, Cacdac said.

Several OFWs were killed in Kuwait in recent years, including Jullebee Ranara, who was found burned in a desert, and Joanna Demafelis, whose body was stuffed into a freezer.

In late December, the case of a Filipina who allegedly killed a Kuwaiti child stunned authorities.

The Filipina domestic helper reportedly confessed to killing the Kuwaiti child by placing him inside a washing machine, according to a Gulf News report.

She allegedly committed the crime "out of frustration," the report added.

Charges have been filed against her, Cacdac noted.

“Nandoon yung lawyer natin para kahit papaano tingnan, suriin yung kaso at saka yung pagbigay ng legal assistance sa kanya  she is still entitled to a legal defense,” he said.
