Remulla added the upcoming midterm election could play as a key factor for Marbil’s extension. Marbil may be extended until June.

Marbil was named as the country’s PNP chief on April 1, 2024, and he is expected to retire on February 7, 2025 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56.
