Yet another prayer rally is set by the end of the month in Metro Manila, this time at the historic EDSA Shrine in protest of the 2025 national budget, which allocates zero funds to PhilHealth and the Department of Education's computerization program.

Retired Supreme Court justice Antonio Carpio said the January 31 rally is being initiated by the clergy for good governance, with the participation of various civil society groups.

"The main issue of the rally is 2025 General Appropriations act, pork barrel, walang appropriation ang Philhealth, walang appropriation ang computer sa DEPED. Dapat ayusin ang budget natin, dapat ibalik nila ang original proposal ng office of the president for Philhealth," he said in a TeleRadyo Serbisyo interview.

He added: "Pwede pang ayusin, magpasa sila ng supplemental budget. Any time pwede naman."

Groups backing the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte will also join the rally.

The January 31 prayer rally comes just weeks after the Iglesia ni Cristo's peace rally on January 13.
