MANILA – House Secretary General Reginald Velasco said on Monday a religious group is expected to file the third impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte.

"Religious group daw po. We are waiting. Thanks," he told reporters in a message.

However, Velasco did not give further details as to which religious group and when they will file the complaint.

The House Secretary General said they have yet to transmit the first two impeachment complaints, one endorsed by Akbayan Party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña and the other backed by Makabayan bloc lawmakers.

They are awaiting the comments and recommendation of their legal department before transmitting the verified complaints to the Office of House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Velasco earlier said they can only refer verified complaints to the Office of the House Speaker.

He added that they will process the complaints in accordance with the Rules of Procedure on Impeachment Proceedings.
