MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte's office on Thursday thanked Sen. Imee Marcos and other supporters for their help during a recent "crisis"

The Office of the Vice President noted that Sen. Marcos ensured there was a Department of the Interior and Local Government order allowing Duterte to be with her chief of staff Zuleika Lopez at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) in Quezon City.

Sen. Marcos at one point visited Lopez at the hospital.

Lopez was hospitalized last Nov. 23 after she allegedly experienced bouts of vomiting and fainting spells when she learned that a House panel investigating the OVP's confidential fund use was planning to detain her at the Women’s Correctional Institution in Mandaluyong City.

That same weekend, Duterte led an expletive-laden press conference where she said she had arranged for Sen. Marcos' brother, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., to be killed if an alleged plot to assassinate the Vice President succeeds.

In its statement, the OVP thanked Senators Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa and Christopher "Bong" Go who visited Lopez at the VMMC.

Duterte's office also thanked medical professionals who watched over her aides and the media for reporting the state of the nation.

Tensions occurred during Lopez's move to the VMMC, with a police doctor filing a complaint against Duterte, the head of her security detail, and others over the incident.

The complaint accused Duterte, her security head Army Col. Raymund Dante Lachica, and others of alleged assault, disobedience, and coercion during the transfer.

Duterte said she planned to file criminal complaints against police officers involved in the incident.

The OVP released its statement a day after a second impeachment complaint was filed against Duterte.

The impeachment complaints add to the legal woes of Duterte, who is also facing a separate investigation over her alleged assassination threat against the President, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez.
