MANILA — Three journalists appeared before the NBI Cybercrime Division on Wednesday after they were subpoenaed for the investigation into the alleged threats Vice President Sara Duterte made in her late night press conference over a week ago.

The reporters were from the Manila Times, Rappler, and the Philippine Daily Inquirer. They are all assigned in covering the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

The NBI explained that they will take statements from the reporters about what transpired before and during the press conference.

During the controversial presscon, Duterte revealed she had arranged for the assassination of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr, the First Lady, and the House Speaker should an alleged plot to kill her succeeded.

Duterte said her statement was "maliciously taken out of logical context."

The Vice President was rescheduled to appear before the NBI on Dec. 11 after missing the initial date for the hearing.
