How were receipts for Office of the Vice President’s confidential funds allegedly faked?

These and more are just some of the questions raised in the second impeachment complaint set to be filed against Vice President Sara Duterte Wednesday afternoon.

Bayan president Renato Reyes Jr. said some 70 complainants including youth leaders, teachers, government employees, health workers, and multi sectoral groups will be joining the complaint accusing Duterte of betrayal of public trust.

Specifically, he said the complaint questions the alleged misuse of the OVP’s confidential funds, amid a Commission on Audit report that a certain Mary Grace Piattos - one of the recipients of the OVP funds - does not exist.

“Paano ba ginastos ang confi funds? Paano na-utilize yung more than half a billion ng confidential funds? Paano ‘yan ginastos mula Dec. 2022 hanggang 3rd quarter 2023?” Reyes said in a TeleRadyo Serbisyo interview.

“Paano pineke? Paano nilabag 'yung mga alituntunin ng Commission on Audit pagdating sa pag-uulat. Diyan papasok ‘yung mga questionable na resibo, Mary Grace Piattos at iba pang kwestyonableng pamamaraan ng liquidation.”

The filing of the impeachment complaint runs counter to President Ferdinand Marcos Jnr’s earlier remarks discouraging his allies in Congress from supporting the impeachment.
