<p>MANILA — The Department of Migrant Workers expressed concern over the case of a Filipino domestic worker in Kuwait who allegedly killed a Kuwaiti child.</p><p>&quot;We at the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) are deeply concerned about the involvement of a Filipino domestic worker in the death of an employer&#x27;s child in Kuwait,&quot; the agency said in a statement dated December 28, Saturday.</p><p>&quot;We convey our sincere condolences to the child&#x27;s family and the Kuwaiti government,&quot; it added.</p><p>The department assured its cooperation with Kuwaiti authorities and extended assistance to Filipino domestic worker.</p><p>&quot;The DMW, through the Philippine Embassy and Migrant Workers Office in Kuwait, is closely coordinating with Kuwaiti authorities while extending the necessary assistance to the subject domestic worker, with due regard to Kuwaiti laws and the DMW mandate,&quot; the agency added.</p><p>It also called the incident isolated, saying it does not reflect the values of overseas Filipino workers and other Filipinos abroad.</p><p>&quot;We humbly provide the assurance that this tragic incident is isolated and does not represent the values of Filipinos and overseas Filipino workers who are known for their caring nature, professionalism, dedication and hard work,&quot; the DMW added.</p><p>The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait earlier released a similar statement extending condolences and prayers to the victim&#x27;s family and assured cooperation with Kuwaiti authorities investigating the incident.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2024/12/28/ph-embassy-stunned-by-case-of-filipina-allegedly-killing-kuwaiti-child-2221">PH embassy stunned by case of Filipina allegedly killing Kuwaiti child</a></div><p>The domestic worker allegedly placed the victim inside a washing machine &#x27;out of frustration&#x27; because the child was &#x27;disturbing&#x27; her, according to local news reports. </p><p>The reports added that the child was rushed to Jaber Hospital where he died.</p><p>The Filipino domestic worker was taken into custody by authorities while the investigation is ongoing, according to reports.</p><div><strong>OTHER NEWS:</strong></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6v5GNTBUdtU?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
