MANILA — The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) on Sunday said it expects the continuous deluge of passengers until December 23 as last-minute travelers are still expected to troop to the transportation hub 2 days before Christmas.

Between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. of December 22, the PITX has already recorded 160,740 passengers in their facility.

“Tuloy-tuloy pa ang surge until tomorrow,” said Kolyn Kalbasa, Senior Corporate Affairs Officer of PITX.

While the terminal has yet to record crimes and accidents, it has already listed 106 sharp and flammable items confiscated from passengers.

Among these items are scissors, knives, lighters, butane gas and firecrackers.

Four trips to Bicol were delayed as repairs along the damaged Andaya Highway in Camarines Sur continue, Kalbasa said.

A total of 31 trips to Bicol from different bus companies have been added to address the need for more vehicles going to region 5, she said.
