MANILA — Undersecretary Claire Castro said Wednesday evening that the looming impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte is at the hands of the Senate and that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will not meddle in the issue.

The Palace press officer also said that regardless of who won as a senator or congressman in the recent 2025 elections, the president maintains that he will not have a hand in the process of the trial.
