MANILA -- Talks of a possible grant of clemency for Filipino death row convict Mary Jane Veloso is still &quot;premature,&quot; Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said on Tuesday, a day before the Filipina&#x27;s arrival after 14 years of incarceration in Indonesia.Veloso — who was arrested and sentenced to death in 2010 after 2.6 kilograms of heroin was found in her luggage — will be transferred to the Philippines, where she is expected to be meted with life imprisonment due to the absence of a death penalty in the Philippines.&quot;We will not talk about that yet. She must first arrive here before we can make a decision,&quot; he said.Bersamin said he has yet to see Veloso&#x27;s transfer documents from Indonesia so he could not confirm in Jakarta asked Manila for a certain time frame before pardoning the Filipina convict of her crime.
