MANILA -- Cardinal Pablo Virgilio "Ambo" David delivered his first homily upon his return to the Philippines on Saturday morning at the San Roque Cathedral Parish. 

He extended his gratitude to his family, friends, the clergy of the Diocese of Kalookan, and other Catholics who supported his journey. He also discussed humility and learning to face rejection and persecution in the age of social media.

"It is still perfectly okay to call me Bishop Ambo. Don't ever apologize for that," said David, who revealed that he has been repeatedly asked on how to refer to him upon his elevation as a cardinal.

"I am still the Bishop of Kalookan, who just received some additional responsibilities from the Bishop of Rome," he added. -- report from Harlene Delgado, ABS-CBN News
