Mabini Street was partially closed to vehicles from C-3 Road to J. Rodriguez Street, according to the Public Safety and Traffic Management Department (PSTMD) of Caloocan City.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2024/12/7/philippines-bishop-ambo-now-a-cardinal-0002">Philippines&#x27; Bishop Ambo now a cardinal</a></div><p>Free transportation is available for Caloocan residents affected by road closures, and coaster vans are deployed to shuttle the cardinal’s guests.</p><p>“Nag-assign po ang LGU ng apat na service vehicle para yung mga naglalakad na medyo malalayuan, ise-service natin papunta po dito sa simbahan,” said Jay Bernardo, head of PSTMD.</p><p>To safeguard the churchgoers, Bernardo said the city government has assigned 250 personnel, including representatives from the local government unit (LGU), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).</p><p>A first-aid station has also been set up near the church for potential medical emergencies.</p><div><strong>GUESTS FROM PROVINCES</strong></div><p> Sister Claudine Esguerra, one of many devotees from other provinces, traveled from Laguna to join the celebration.</p><p> “I left Laguna around 4 a.m. Ganun ako ka-excited. Bishop Ambo is a fellow alumni of the Loyola School of Theology, and siguro since pagpasok ko ng convent 16 years ago, I’ve been following his homilies,” she said.</p><p>“Yung kanyang homily, lalo na nung pandemic, yun ang inaabangan ko everyday,” she added.</p><p> Cardinal David, one of ten Filipino cardinals, is the first chosen from outside a major archdiocese.</p><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ht7tzDfs1yg?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div><p>Cardinals hold the second highest position in the Catholic Church.
