MANILA -- Vice President Sara Duterte on Saturday declined to comment on the recent remarks of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., when he confirmed a supposed leaked message asking congressmen to not file an impeachment complaint against the vice president.

"Hindi na muna ako mag-comment 'no, sa mga remarks ni Pres. Marcos," Duterte said in an ambush interview at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center.

Marcos Jr. on Friday confirmed that he asked lawmakers to refrain from filing an impeachment complaint against the vice-president, claiming that it is "not important."

"This is not important. This does not make a difference to even one single Filipino life. So why waste time on it," Marcos said. "What will happen if somebody files an impeachment? It will tie down the House, it will tie down the Senate. It will just take up all our time and for what? For nothing, for nothing. None of this will help improve a single Filipino life."

Duterte also refused to comment when asked about Marcos Jr. saying "never say never" about their relationship, which the vice president earlier said had reached a "point of no return."

The tensions between the country's two top officials have risen in the past week, with Duterte saying in an online press conference that she had instructed that Marcos, Speaker Martin Romualdez, and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos be killed should an alleged plot to kill her succeed.

NBI PROBE

Meanwhile, Duterte said she is still unsure whether to attend the rescheduled probe of the National Bureau of Investigation on Dec. 11, citing the fluidity of her schedule.

"I'll have to run my schedule day by day kasi  nagbabago siya ngayon araw-araw dahil bigla na lang may nangyayari na mga bagay kaya hindi ko magawa 'yung schedule ko nang malayo pa," she said.

"Hindi ko pa masagot kung pupunta ako sa Dec. 11," Duterte noted.

She adds she will follow the advice of her legal counsels.

"Saka ang isang consideration diyan ay sinusunod ko kung ano yung sinasabi ng lawyers sa ngayon. So kung ano yung sasabihin or ano 'yung advice ng lawyers, gagawin ko," she added.

Duterte was supposed to appear at the NBI last Friday to explain her statement regarding the "kill plot" against Marcos, but she asked the agency to postpone the hearing after reportedly learning late that a House hearing on her office's fund use on the same day was canceled.

The vice president has said that her statement was taken "out of logical context" and does not believe that it constitutes an active threat against Marcos.
