MANILA - The lawyer of Neri Naig-Miranda is confident she will be able to hurdle her legal troubles in due time. 

 In a statement, Atty. Aureli Sinsuat, co-counsel for Naig-Miranda, said his client has faced similar complaints in other venues.

 “Similar complaints filed against her in other venues have already been dismissed. We are confident that Neri will be vindicated of these charges through proper judicial processes,” Sinsuat said.

They are also thankful for the support the actress has been receiving from social media.

“We appreciate the heartfelt support that Neri has received from numerous individuals in the press and on social media,” Sinsuat said.

However, he added that they can no longer publicly discuss details of their client’s case in compliance with the sub judice rule.

 “In compliance with the sub judice rule, we are unable to make any statements on the cases pending against Neri Miranda before the courts. It is unfortunate that Neri was not informed of the charges against her beforehand, as we would have been able to properly explain her side even before this reached the courts,” he said.

Naig-Miranda is facing charges for alleged violations of the Securities Regulation Code and syndicated estafa.

Aside from Naig-Miranda and another actress, some political figures were also implicated in the case for endorsing the company involved.

She may likely spend Christmas and New Year at the Pasay City Jail Female Dormitory after the court rescheduled her arraignment to January next year.
