MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday expressed her gratitude to professionals who have extended help and support for the Office of the Vice President (OVP) personnel affected by the ongoing issues her office is facing.

“The Office of the Vice President would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the lawyers, doctors and other professionals who are helping the personnel affected by the on-going crisis in the office,” Duterte said in a video, adding that legal documents are being processed by lawyers, and the hospitalized personnel are being handled by healthcare personnel.

Duterte also said this allows her and her other personnel to focus on other things, such as the OVP thanksgiving, year-end activities and others.

“All these back office support shall allow me and other personnel to focus on the OVP thanksgiving, year-end activities, office utilization review, and the calendar year 2025 planning,” she said.

“We assure the Filipino people that even in times of crisis and without resources, we shall stand tall, strong and resilient in our service to the Filipino people,” Duterte also said.

Duterte is currently facing an investigation over her remarks last week that she had tapped someone to kill President Marcos Jr, First Lady Liza Marcos and Speaker Martin Romualdez if she is assassinated.

Her office is also being investigated on the use of the P125 million confidential funds which is not in the 2022 General Appropriations Act.

Gina Acosta, the Special Disbursing Officer of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), and OVP Chief of Staff Zuleika Lopez are both currently confined at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC)
