MANILA — Around 200 supporters of the Vice President Sara Duterte and her family flocked to EDSA Shrine in Quezon City on Wednesday night for the continuation of their program.

Some attendees of the gathering said they wanted to show their support for Duterte, who was facing a House investigation for her office’s use of confidential funds and a separate subpoena for her alleged death threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The program featured a saxophone performance of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s favorite songs.

By around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, some attendees were seen at the food area to claim the free snacks.

A mini truck was also parked at the back of the shrine and served as the stage for supporters who were leading the program.

Police officers were spotted around the shrine.

Some members of the crowd said they would stay in the area until Friday, November 29.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday presented to the media several videos which supposedly showed the transportation and payment of Duterte supporters who gathered at the EDSA Shrine.

PNP spokesperson BGen. Jean Fajardo said there was a logbook of those who allegedly received payment to attend the gathering. The supporters were allegedly promised P500, but some complained that they only received P200.

There was no immediate comment from Vice President Duterte’s office on this.

Ex-President Duterte, meanwhile, said Monday that the issues surrounding his daughter were  too "insignificant" to initiate a mass movement. But he also called on the military to “correct” the Marcos administration.
