MANILA — The legal counsel of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy appeared at the Department of Justice (DOJ) Wednesday to present witnesses to counter the sedition and inciting to sedition complaints filed against him and his companions.

The complaints were filed by Police Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief, in connection with actions taken during a police operation at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City.

In an interview, lawyer Israelito Torreon confirmed that his witnesses had signed affidavits in his presence, asserting that neither he nor other respondents were involved in the alleged sedition.

Among those facing charges in connection with the case are Torreon, ally Lorraine Badoy-Partosa, and 11 others.

The charges stemmed from their alleged involvement in attempts to prevent police from serving a warrant for Quiboloy’s arrest in August.

Torreon added that two governors and their bodyguards are among his witnesses, and their testimony will help prove that he was not present during the alleged events.

On Wednesday, Quiboloy was transferred to Pasig City Jail - Male Dormitory, almost three months after being under the custody of the Philippine National Police in Camp Crame.
