MANILA — The Department of Justice on Wednesday clarified that Justice Secretary Crispin "Boying" Remulla is in good condition.

This, amid rumors that the DOJ chief has been admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU).

"The Secretary of Justice is well and about," DOJ Usec. Jesse Hermogenes Andres said in a press conference at the DOJ building on Wednesday.

"There is no issue with his health. It is important that his executive time is preserved to deal with so many other things," he added.

His brother, Interior and Local Government Sec. Jonvic Remulla also dismissed such claims.

"Not true. I was just talking to him to this morning," the younger Remulla said in a message to ABS-CBN News.

In December last year, Remulla also dispelled rumors that he was hospitalized and also admitted to ICU.

In July 2023, the justice secretary revealed that he underwent a heart bypass procedure during his sudden wellness leave.

In February this year, Remulla admitted that he had complications with his immune system since the operation, but assured that he is recovering and well-capable to lead the agency.
