MANILA — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Tuesday said it is not targeting particular personalities or figures in tracking those who are possibly involved Vice President Sara Duterte’s kill plot against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The CIDG earlier launched efforts to track those who Duterte allegedly contracted to exterminate the President should a kill plot against her succeed.

“Walang personalan ito. We are not looking at personalities at this point,” said Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, head of the CIDG.

“We will be looking at the information and then kahit saan man yan, kahit ano mang apelyido niyang mga yan, titingnan natin na equal,” he said.

The CIDG will be conducting a joint investigation with the National Bureau of Investigation, Torre said.

“We will submit to the auspices of the NBI and we will just give them additional inputs kung kinakailangan nila,” he said.

“We are still an investigating arm, we will give them the assistance and other information that may help in building up the case,” he  said.

When asked if they already have leads, Torre said: “May mga tinitingnan tayo but nothing concrete so far.”

“May mga indicators tayong tinitingnan na magbibigay sa atin ng direksyon kung saan ang emphasis dapat at patutunguhan ng ating imbestigasyon,” he said.

“Pasensya na kayo at hindi ko din madisclose sa media ang lahat ng aming nalalaman,” he said. 

The NBI has served Duterte a subpoena on November 26, and required the Vice President to present herself before the agency to explain why she issued a kill threat against the chief executive.
