MANILA -- Individuals on Tuesday gathered in front of EDSA Shrine cor. Ortigas Ave. to air their criticisms against President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr's administration, with some saying it was time for the president to address high food prices and other alleged corruption issues.

It was this afternoon that EDSA Shrine Rector Fr. Jerome Secillano noted an influx of attendees in the Shrine of Mary Queen of Peace, a church built in the shrine where the EDSA People Power Revolution ousted dictator and former President Ferdinand Marcos, Sr.

The ABS-CBN News team arrived at 4 p.m. when there were an estimated hundred people eating outside the church, while some were vlogging.

One who had a mic and addressed the vloggers described the current House quad committee investigation into the confidential funds as a form of "politicking."

"Ang tunay na dapat imbestigahan yung mayroong relos na nagkakaroon ng 5 million at mayroong bullet proof car na nagkakahalaga ng 20.5 million," one man said.

"Logical lang, common sense, what is the meaning of confidential? Pag sinabi mo kasing confidential, sikreto yan. Hindi yan dapat hinahayag sa publiko kasi mayroon yang panganib sa tao," he added.

Some of those who participated in the gathering were waiting for packed lunch and water, which supposedly came from a basement inside a mall.

Many of them were from Quezon City and Manila, while some of them said they participated on their own by commuting.

"Sabihin niyo kaunti lang kami dito, marami ang gustong pumunta!" one woman shouted.

"Nangutang lang sila, wala silang perang pamasahe… kahit nga ako eh. Wala kayong awa!"

Fr. Secillano warned of activities not proper inside the church.

"They won't be allowed to eat, drink, carry slogans, shout, vlog, sleep, make noise, debate and loiter in the areas leading to the doors of the shrine. The latter will give the impression to mass-goers, pilgrims and devotees that the Shrine is not available for worship and prayer," said Fr. Secillano

"Be informed that we won't tolerate any unruly behavior and untoward activities that may compromise the sanctity and dignity of the House of God," he added.

Members of the police force are currently on standby outside the EDSA shrine, as the crowd estimate has yet to be officially determined.

As of 6 p.m., some individuals who attended already left the area, while some said they would continue to camp outside the EDSA Shrine until sunrise.
