MANILA - Vice President Sara Duterte plans to stay put in the office of his brother, Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte, despite alleged efforts of the House of Representatives to make her leave. 

Duterte on Thursday visited her chief of staff Zuleika Lopez, who is in House custody in relation to the probe on the Vice President's alleged fund misuse in the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education (DepEd), which she previously led. 

Duterte later went to the office of her brother and decided to stay over. 

"Actually, pinuntahan ako ng (House) sergeant-at-arms kanina. Nakipag meeting siya sa amin. We sat down," said Duterte in a press conference from her brother's office on Friday.

"Sabi ko, 'Anong gagawin mo, bubuhatin mo ako palabas?' Sabi ko, 'I will escort you out of this office,'" added Duterte.

The Vice President said the House officer repeatedly pleaded for her to leave the office.

"He said, 'I’m just doing my job, you need to leave.'" 

Instead of heeding the request, Duterte told the official to take it to the office of House Speaker Martin Romualdez. 

"Ganito na lang ang gawin natin... 'yang boss mo congressman. 'Yung may ari ng opisinang ito congressman. Why not elevate natin sa kanila ang pag-uusap?" she said.

She also said in jest about taking over the House speakership.

"Baka pagbalik niya (Romualdez) sa Lunes ako na ang speaker dito. VP Speaker na ang tawag sa akin dito," said Duterte.
