MANILA -- Ride-hailing app InDrive is partnering with the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).

Under the partnership, passengers will have an easier time booking rides from PITX to any destination in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna. There will also be a dedicated inDrive booth where passengers can be picked up.

Sofia Guinto, business development head of inDrive Philippines, said this is a step towards the company's goal of improving mobility in the Philippines.

"This partnership with PITX marks more than just a booth—it represents a movement. A movement toward mobility that listens, includes, and empowers," she said.

PITX chief operating officer Mohit Malhi, for his part, said the partnership with inDrive shows how technology can meet the needs of passengers on the ground.

“This partnership supports our vision of modernizing transport and prioritizing the safety and welfare of our passengers," he said.

InDrive’s unique proposition was that it lets drivers and passengers negotiate fares, after which both parties have the freedom to accept or turn down the transaction altogether.

But the company removed this feature after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) decided that the company’s business model violated its fare system, and relaunched in June last year.
