Netflix will increase the prices of its subscription plans in the Philippines starting June 1 as the law imposing value-added tax on digital services takes effect.

Republic Act No. 12023, signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on October 2, 2024, imposes a 12-percent VAT on foreign digital service providers and other foreign tech firms that provide services in the Philippines.

The streaming service has updated its plan prices on its Help Center website and on the sign up page as of Tuesday, May 6. It has also sent out emails to subscribers informing them of the change.

Here are the new plan prices:

Additional member slots for Standard and Premium subscribers are now at P169/month, previously P149.

Other streaming services such as Disney+, Prime Video, Max, Spotify, and Apple Music are expected to announce new prices as well before the June 1 implementation of the new law.
