MANILA -- BPI is lowering its InstaPay interbank transfer fees to P10.

In a Facebook post, the bank said users can transfer funds to other banks like GCash and Maya via the BPI app for only P10 from March 7 to May 31.

With this move, the lender said it hopes to make fund transfers even more accessible and cost-effective, encouraging more Filipinos to embrace the convenience of digital banking.

BPI recently drew flak after its mobile banking app stopped the "Load E-Wallet" service for the country's two biggest e-wallet apps on Feb. 13. This required users to move funds via the "Transfer to other banks" feature, which costs P25.

The Ayala-led lender, however, said it was just following Bangko Sentral ng regulations. GCash users, meanwhile, could still use the 'Cash In' feature in the app to load the e-wallet with funds from their linked BPI accounts for P5 per transaction.
