MANILA -- The BDO Cash Card will no longer be usable by March 31.

In a statement, the bank said cash card holders can go to their nearest BDO branch to get their cards replaced for free by the BDO Pay Card.

Unlike the cash card, the BDO Pay card can be used with the BDO Pay app to scan to pay in stores, pay bills, or send money. 

Both cards allow clients to withdraw for free from any BDO ATM nationwide, and pay via card in stores that accept BancNet debit cards.

The country's biggest lender said there is no minimum deposit or maintaining balance needed for its pay card. It can also be reloaded through BDO cash machines, the Pay app, or over the counter.

BDO said users who want a Pay Card can download the BDO Pay app, then follow the steps to apply for a basic account.  They can pick up their cards from the nearest branch once the application is approved.

Aside from its cash card, BDO is also relaunching its new website by the end of March.
