MANILA - The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Thursday said it has approved more than 1,200 additional positions for the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila – Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

In a statement, the DBM said the 1,224 new positions include medical, allied medical, and support staff.

The DBM said UP-PGH operates as a Level III 1,300-bed hospital, so this was considered in granting the hospital's request for additional positions.

The creation of new positions will be done in 4 tranches. This will start in the first quarter of 2025, followed by another one in the fourth quarter of 2025, in 2026, and in 2027.
