BPI, Metrobank say apps, online banking temporarily having issues

MANILA (UPDATE) -- Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) said its app and website were unavailable, while Metrobank said some users of its app and website may face some slowdown. 

In a Facebook post, BPI said its team is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. BPI posted the advisory at 2:22 p.m., but has yet to update it as of 5:48 p.m.


Metrobank, meanwhile, said its customers may still experience a temporary slowdown when transacting through their app and online banking channel.

The Ty-led lender first addressed problems with their e-banking platforms on Thursday.

Metrobank assured its clients that their money remains safe as bank personnel work to address the problem.

The bank noted that customers can still transact through their ATMs and cash accept machines.
