MANILA -- Cebu Pacific is launching its new flights from Cebu to Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam with a 'piso sale.'

In a statement, Cebu Pacific said guests from Cebu to Ho Chi Minh (formerly Saigon) can book flights for as low as P1 one-way base fare from February 20 to 24.

They can travel from April 7, when the budget carrier starts flying three times a week--every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday--to the Vietnamese city.

Those who booked the piso fare can visit until July 31.

Last week, Philippine Airlines also announced that it was flying from Cebu to Ho Chi Minh from May 2.

Cebu Pacific flew 2.6 million passengers in January, up 33.4 percent from the numbers seen the year before, as both domestic and international passenger volume grew.

The airline is also exlpanding its Clark hub following the government's mandate to transfer turboprop flights out of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Cebu Pacific flies to 37 domestic and 26 international destinations spread across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

The airline meanwhile is seeing double digit growth in terms of passenger count this year. Aside from expanding Clark and NAIA, it is also seeing growth in provincial airports.
