MANILA (UPDATE) — Bank of the Philippine Islands said its mobile banking app will no longer have the "Load E-Wallet" service for the country's two biggest e-wallet apps starting Feb. 13.

BPI said users of GCash and Maya can still load their e-wallets via Instapay using the "Transfer to other banks" feature. BPI app users then need to select G-Xchange/GCash or Maya Philippines Inc/Maya Wallet from the list of banks on the menu.

BPI app users can also use it to pay for purchases using the scan-to-pay feature which uses the QR Ph standard backed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas that can be used for person-to-person and person-to-merchant payments.
