MANILA — Cuts in diesel prices are expected while gasoline prices will continue to increase as February begins, according to the the Department of Energy.

The following mixed oil price movement are seen to take effect on Tuesday, February 4:

Gasoline - P0.60 to P0.80 per liter increase

Diesel - P1.30 to 1.50 per liter decrease

Kerosene - P0.70 to P0.90 per liter decrease

DOE's Oil Industry Management Bureau director Rodela Romero said on Friday that an increase in US oil inventory influenced the price adjustment.

Industry experts noted that the market must also look out to the impact of US President Donald Trump’s tariff threats against Mexico and Canada, and the Chinese New Year.  —  with a report from Alvin Elchico, ABS-CBN News
