MANILA -- Government employees are getting the second tranche of their salary increase in January. 

In a statement, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said Secretary Amenah Pangandaman has signed National Budget Circular No. 597, which states the rules and regulations for the second tranche of the salary increase for the civilian government employees.

This is in line with the updated Salary Schedule for the Civilian Personnel pursuant to Executive Order (EO) No. 64, s. 2024, which states that the second tranche must be implemented on January 1, 2025.

The third tranche will be implemented in 2026, and the final one in 2027.

The amounts needed for the salary adjustment of the civilian government personnel shall be charged against the Miscellaneous Personnel Benefits Fund and any available appropriations under the 2025 budget.

"We hope that this second tranche will provide much-needed financial relief and allow our government workers to better support their families, invest in their futures, and enhance their overall quality of life," Pangandaman said.
