More EV charging stations to open in Makati: ACMobility

MANILA -- ACMobiity is opening more electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Makati.

In a statement, the company said there will be 27 more EV charging points in Makati, including 19 fast charging points by the first quarter of 2025.

This brings the total number of EV charging points to 74, scattered across 18 areas in the city, including offices, malls, carparks, and condominiums.

ACMobility also said it is working on making sure that some charging stations operate 24/7, in order to cater to late night and early morning commuters.

At the moment, the firm has 47 charging points across Makati.

Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, chief executive officer of ACMobility, ssaid Makati shows the potential of letting EVs play key roads in urban centers.

"As a key city for our EV ecosystem expansion, Makati exemplifies the potential of electric mobility in urban centers, and we are dedicated to meeting its evolving needs toward a greener future," he said.

"By boosting our EV infrastructure through ACMobility, we commit to the integration of cleaner technologies into the daily life of Makatizens," Makati City Mayor Abby Binay added.

ACMobility is the exclusive Philippine distributor of BYD--one of the world's biggest manufacturers of electric vehicles.

ACMobility is bringing in new EV models for different needs and clients next year. ACMobility is also planning to double the number of its EV charging stations to more than 200 this year.
